Securing Federal Financial Aid for Dietetic Internships
Dietetic internships should be able to secure eligibility for federal financial aid per federal policy, but rarely do so. Analysis of Section 8020 of the Higher Education Reconciliation Act in 34 CFR 668.10 of section 481(b) of the Higher Education Act will reveal an untapped opportunity for dietetic internships to qualify for federal financial aid as direct assessment programs. Institutional support in this endeavor would propel programs to the forefront among leaders in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
